The dying media are attempting to weave a laughably false — but very P.C. — narrative which holds variously that the blood-soaked practitioner of “the religion of peace” was the “victim” of bullying and slurs… They are happy to report that this was not, repeat not, an Islamic terrorist attack. Just another workplace shooting.

As a reporter, I would suggest, you also don’t want to close your mind to facts that might lead you to an uncomfortable, perhaps politically incorrect, conclusion. The job of journalists is to uncover the facts, not to foster harmony by dismissing possibilities that might upset the view we have of ourselves as beacons of religious tolerance.

We don’t know if his religious beliefs played any part in his alleged murderous rampage, but the case of Maj. Hasan, who technically at this stage is only a “suspect,” is not helping the image of peaceful Islam.
