Sometimes to better understand a complex subject it pays to consult a real expert. I shared my gut feelings about the Obama administrations shift on European missile defense. First I though it was a mistake. Then I thought maybe it’s not so bad. Then I thought I should talk to someone who really knows. Listen to former Missile Defense Agency head Retired Gen. Trey Obering’s thoughtful assessment. He’s troubled, but not alarmed.

like most Obama initiatives, this will end up doing less and costing more, way down the road. Probably when the republicans are again in the White House, the chickens will come home to roost.
